That, and, what I always find myself having to do with Bethesda games is to just permanently delete my save files or uninstall the game entirely. Oblivion not so much... it just bores me these days. But Morrowind, yeah. And even Fallout 3. When you think it has taken over your life and you don't want to spend any more time with it, just make it so that you can't. :\Play more Morrowind!

[contraversial]In my experience Oblivion is enough to put anyone off the elder scrolls series completely.[/contraversial]Seriously, how do I beat it? I think I've sunk over 300 hours into Oblivion alone....

In fact, I think you might have been too if you played it when it first came out. And had your fun with it before it really started to show it's sadness.

You should probably rectify this fairly soon.the only time ive played morrowind was on the xbox, and it wasnt mine. oblivion is my first elder scrolls experience beyond that.

What mods should I use?

There are some kinda handy ones though. I'll just list what's in my folder (sans a couple worthless ones).
Adamantium Armor (Makes Medium Armor worthwhile)
Better Bodies (Obvious)
Better Heads (I personally like some of the older heads more, but these look nicer with BB.)
Bitter Coast Sounds (ambiance)
Clean Templar Pauldrons Fix (minor fix for something that always annoyed me)
HoED Harem Style (groovy clothes for the dancing girls; also makes then not naked due to BB. =p)
Real Sign Posts (I never read the signs, but it's a nifty addition.)
Shimmer (Majorly tones down that annoying glow from enchanted clothes and armor.)
Smoother Glass Weapons (More aesthetic stuff)
Town of Uvirith (Don't remember what this does exactly, but I think it improves your Telvanni Stronghold.)
Uvirith Inside (Same as above)
Ymsidril Armour (Just some armor that I thought looked cool.)

Better heads, better bodies and better clothes all help modernize the graphics. You'll also want to download QARLS texture pack.
I use WeatheredSigns instead of Real Sign Posts and Improve No Glow instead of Shimmer. In both cases either is fine so long as you have one of them. I also use Unique Banners and Signs.
For sound I use AtmosphericSoundEffects. It's 99% great, but there are a couple of sounds that irk me. I'll have to download bitter coast sounds again, I think I remember really liking that one back in the day.
And then there's the miscellaneous bug fixes etc:
Passive Healthy Wildlife (particularly helpful in preventing endless cliff racer attacks)
Beds4Rent (adds rentable beds in a couple of towns that lack them for some reason)
TribIntegration (Fixes some bugs with the Dark Brotherhood quest as well as integrating Tribunal into vvardenfel a bit more).
BloodmoonAmmoFix (fixes some problems with ammo drops in solstheim)
BMExtras (Adds some content that was included on the Bloodmoon disc but for whatever reason not made available)
ImprovedCursedItems (makes cursed items spawn different mobs)
abotWhereAreAllBirdsGoing (adds birds, butterflies, bats and other winged pests to the game. Mostly they just look pretty on the horizon and they won't attack you).
Nymeria's Mages' Guild Fix (adds a supply chest to Caldera Mage's guild and fixes a bug with the alchemist in Sadrith Mora)
dej_plain_paper_fix (makes it possible to pick up pieces of paper without reading them first)
Drug Realism (merchants will still trade with you if you're carrying moonsugar/skooma, however they will alarm guards if you try to sell them)
HlaaloManorRemadeNoChairs (Invince's thoroughly worthwhile mod)
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the Morrowind Framerate Optimizer works nicely in conjunction with MGE and smooths out a lot of jitters that can persist even in high-end machines.

Oh, and one guy who didn't use weapons, armor (except gauntlets), or magic (except enchanted items) and pretty much only fought with his fists. Managed to finish the main story and Tribunal with him, though I had to go into the construction set and remove a certain boss's crazy-fast CE fatigue restoration. <_<
EDIT: Almost forgot. My favorite character I've done so far was a dragoon. She was a Nord with Spears, Medium Armor, and Jump/Slowfall effects enchanted onto her gear. Had her join Redoran for role-playing and the Temple mostly for the armor you get from the final quest. =p
Jumping is fun~

I meant the Morrowind Visual Pack. QARLS texture pack is the Oblivion equivalent. You'll also want to download QARLS texture pack.

Which texture replacers do you use?I disagree entirely. I use a few texture replacers, but the visual pack is terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I must admit that I'm assuming that it was the visual pack I installed but I've since deleted the install file so I'm not entirely sure. It may have been Visual Pack XT by QARL. if that makes any difference.

And bean, this one:
http://elderscrolls...._Combined;56241
I just... ew. It's too bright and too smooth. It looks pretty good in the screen shots there (except balmora. the look of balmora is what made me finally remove it). But overall it just doesn't... fit. It is entirely likely that I'm just too used to the regular game.
But anyway, here are of the few graphic mods I use:
Morrowind Graphic Extender, with animated grass
Better heads and better bodies (sadly probably the two most necessary mods for the game, of any type)
Book Jackets (I absolutely love this mod), Better Books (These work together)
Misc. Items replacer
Vality's Bitter Coast, Vality's Ascadian Isles These make the trees more dense and add a new leaf texture that looks like... well, leaves (the speed-tree style from oblivion, anyway). HOWEVER! I usually just install these mods for the leaf texture. Put them in your data folder, but don't turn the mod on. It will use the texture, but won't add the extra trees. For some reason, I just prefer it this way. (Make sure to re-run MGE if you decide to use this mod, one way or the other).
(Gosh, I haven't tried it yet, but this looks nice. From the same guy as the last two)
Kind of a graphic mod, A Flock of Seaguls. Just makes me happy. I tried using "Where are all the birds going?" but it adds creatures that attack you, and are more annoying than cliff racers. I only wanted it for atmosphere.
I have a few more, but those are the biggins.

All the mods you mentioned look well worth trying out. I'm pretty sure I've tried Vality's mods before but it was on my old pooter and the frame rate suffered. I'll try just using the textures rather than running the mods.
Oh, and cheers for the Flock of Seagulls link, I wasn't happy that the mod I'm using adds aggressive critters.
