I would think so, it was packaged as part of the game. That would be like not allowing in game trades with NPCs.

xD. I'd definitely count pokewalker as in-game. xD

Okay... lol, I know it's definitely possible to get a bunch of pokemon you couldn't otherwise get through the pokewalker as well as messing around with the safari zone. http://serebii.net/h...afarizone.shtml

So... in essence, nearly all pokemon from wherever are allowed then.

Well let's go down the list of the most common clauses:

  • Sleep: Only one of your opponent's Pokemon can be put to asleep at a time by you.
I think this one should be put into effect. It is kind of cheap if someone is allowed to just put the entire team to sleep, thus forcing the person to leave a Pokemon in if they don't want that to happen. The rule creates more strategy because you have to decide which Pokemon you want to be put to sleep / allowed to be put to sleep. The last part of the description is important: if you use Rest, your opponent can still put to sleep another Pokemon.
  • Evasion: No moves that increase Evasion / Lower accuracy
I don't know about this one. On the one hand I don't want this tournament to be too strict, it should still be fun. On the other, I hate it when people rely on this strategy, thus making the battle not fun. Had an NPC spam Mud Slap and Double Team, causing the match to last FOREVER. Open to debate on this one.

  • OHKO: No moves that are an instant OHKO, i.e. Guillotine, Horn Drill, Fissure and Sheer Cold.
Go for it. If you want to try and risk going for the OHKO, be my guest. It can make the match fun, even if you are frustrated when it lands on you. I've had my share of landing a OHKO move, though they have always been from Metronome.
  • Items: Two of the same item cannot be equipped.
Put it into effect. It forces people to think about which items they want to equip instead of having all Leftovers or something. Even more important when our battles will only have 3 Pokemon.

  • Species: Two of the same Pokemon cannot be used.
Use it. Try to be creative, especially when only 3 of 5 Pokemon are being used. Only exception was if we agreed to let someone have fun with like an all Charizard team: I know someone has talked about doing that. For fun, sure. To rape, no.

Accuracy lowering moves are generally accepted even under the Evasion Clause. They are treated as PHazing moves since they can force an opponent to switch out. There's a similar exception with Yawn and the Sleep Clause.

I'm all for the sleep, evasion, species and item clauses. OHKO moves are always fine with me. Sporing all my pokemon isn't...

I agree with all that's been said. Sleep/Evasion(Sans accuracy)/Item/Species clauses apply. I'll wrap all this up into another topic now.
