I agree with you there. Especially on Survivor. Don't people know by now that ogling anyone - even people on a tribe picked purposely for their beauty - is just a great way to get a target on your back? :p

On a different tangent, what tribe do you think you'd be sorted on if you were picked to play?

I personally think I'd be on Brains (unfortunately), even though I'm quite athletic. I don't look athletic though, so I wouldn't fit the part on a Brawn team.

I think officially people were placed in a specific tribe because "they made their living mainly off that attribute." So yeah selling truck parts doesn't involve beauty or brawn or really even brains for that matter. But probably more brains than anything.

I doubt I'd be placed on any of the tribes, but of the three I'd probably end up on Brains. I'm not genius-smart but I like logic and strategy. If not there, then Brawn because of my stature. But definitely not beauty.

Well since you won't be checking the thread anyway... I just finished watching the ep and man, were there a lot of crazy things that went down. (I'll put my stuff in a spoiler alert in case you can't help but click this topic before watching.)

Just finished it. I have to agree with you and Mallory too. You don't go back for the backpack in that instance. They weren't a strong team, so it's not huge that they got eliminated. A race with all strangers would be very interesting to watch. You should write in and suggest it!

The cowboys can be so good and so bad at the race at the same time. They need to avoid stupid mistakes. I think it was smart of them to give away the express pass in that instance. Sure, the girls finished ahead of them, but now that express pass is gone and they have the advantage. Plus people won't beg for it anymore.

And yes I'm glad joey and Meghan survived. That is the hard part about the race. You want to be a good person and help others, but it could cost you the game.

I agree, it was definitely smart of the Cowboys to give away the express pass. As they said, "One down and it's only the second leg." This means they're the only ones with it left and can actually use it in a situation where it's strategic, rather than just for desperation. But yeah, I also agree that Mallory and Mark weren't a strong team, and they certainly weren't on my list of favorites so I didn't care whether they left or not...I just felt bad for Mallory because that backpack really did (possibly) cost them the leg. (That, and that they apparently can't play hackeysack.)

Yeah, sometimes helping others really just doesn't work out. It's always a risk...but I was still glad to see it in this case, especially since they're teams with a history together. And at least it wasn't like last season, with the doctors and how Kim (I think) was whiny and needed help on, like, everything. That was too much helping. This was good sportsmanship.

Yeah, my mom would never survive the Amazing Race. Then again, neither would I, if only because I'd absolutely freak with the thrill stuff. But my dad's joked about how he'd do it if he had someone to race with.

But yeah, they weren't a very compatible team yet.

How come no one chose the other side of the detour? Is it because it seemed easier, and therefore you would assume it would take more time?

I know they can't do this because it would ruin the suspense, but sometimes I wish they went all "24" and had a live clock in the corner. I'd like to see how long some of these challenges actually take people.

Also, one of my friends held a local Amazing Race and my wife and I finished first. That being said I know I would utterly fail in the actual race. Especially if I had to drag my mom along.

They've done a 'live clock' a few times, but only when there's only one team left and they're taking ridiculously longer than everyone else did. Then they'll show how much time has passed. But I agree, it would be cool (maybe later, online, like how Survivor takes you to Ponderosa).

Mom also commented on how no one did the other thing, but my guess is they all thought it'd be easy to play hackeysack in comparison to some 'strange' Chinese healing ritual. :p Iw would have picked the feathers too.

Local amazing race, that sounds awesome!

At least once per vacation, my dad will abruptly start going on about how we need to 'find the clue box!' (he even asked a woman once if she knew where it was). It's a lot of fun. XD

Haha I'll have to try that next vacation, it sounds fun.

As far as the local race went, we had to:

-Assemble a puzzle that told us where to go next.
-Count all the planters in the mall as we searched for a specific employee to get our picture with.
-One of us had to blind test baby foods and say the correct flavor.
-Ride the merry go round at the park.
-Climb the lighthouse to search for next clue.
-Knock down a soda can pyramid with rubber bands
-Successfully perform a dance routine at a dance studio
-One of us had to make a long mini putt.
-Search a local museum for answers to questions.

I think I am missing one or two more but it was a great time.

As far as the AR goes, I would've picked hackeysack too, but usually at least one person picks the other side. That Chinese healing looked painful!

That sounds epic. And you're right, usually at least one team picks the other one, but then again they were all so close together they might have just picked what they overheard everyone else picking. And yes! If anything it looks hot

Just finished watching Survivor.

Tony is a smart player. I think he will go very far if his lies don't catch up with him.

I'm more and more impressed with Cass. Her reasoning is always spot on.

I also am starting to like LJ more and more.

I don't know why I thought Survivor was on Thursdays.

I completely missed it. Is there a place to watch it online or something?

It's okay, legacy. I spent all today thinking I'd have to avoid this topic because yesterday was Wednesday. (Hint: It wasn't.) CBS.com has full episodes :) I think it's even already up!

I'll tag my episode thoughts under the spoiler.

I really need to get better at remembering players' names.

I'll watch it tomorrow probably.

I'll have to remember, it's WEDNESDAY. The same day my running club meets in the Spring.

Remember dammit remember.

A good reminder (although a bit late) will be when you see posts in this topic and it's not Sunday/Monday. :p

If I remember I'll post in this next morning going "LEGACY WATCH SURVIVOR TONIGHT!" haha
