I'm not really reading anything at the moment, but my art book The Sky has kept me busy, it's so awesome.

 

Me and Bee went on a Kubrick kick recently, and I see Lolita sitting on my bookshelf seducing me to touch it. So I think I'll start rereading that soon, when I get a moment of quiet.

I actually haven't been reading anything, and it feels kinda weird. I'm still about 2/5 into The Shadow Rising, but I haven't touched it for a while now. I did buy a couple things recently while employees got an extra discount at B&N, most notably Howl's Moving Castle.

I have that on my Kindle just a waiting for me to read it. I probably will early next year.
 
I've been trying to power through The Name of the Wind, hoping to have it finished by the end of the year. It's an audiobook, brilliant, and long... Plus I don't have any more days off until January 3rd... But I'm close! so, so close...

I just learned that the narrator of this book lives in the same city as I do. Huh.

Just finished MLP volume 3. I think it's my favorite one so far.

Just started Casino Royale by Ian Fleming. I'd like to get as much light reading in as I can before school starts.

Stopped reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra because all I was getting from it was Nietzcheism and that's just not very useful to me nor is it very entertaining. I've started reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and I am looooving it!

Just finished reading The Sign of Four by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I have to say I quite enjoyed it. I'm not one for reading, but my interest in the Sherlock Holmes television series has sparked my curiosity. Honestly I wanted to see the difference between the show and the book.

What surprised me most was how Sherlock was depicted. I had bias of him from the show, but Benedict Cumberbatch plays a fairly accurate Sherlock impression. His mannerisms, his way of speaking, and even his analytical way of getting his facts. Hell even Watson's character is fairly on spot.

There are differences enough. The verbiage, from the show, is modernised for the masses and Sherlock's drug habit is downplayed in the show as well.

The book wasn't lengthy, which kept me going. The writing didn't suffer. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys mystery or even the Sherlock TV series.

The Sign of Four was my favorite Sherlock novel when I was in to it in High School. 

 

If you haven't read it, The Hound of the Baskervilles is also very excellent. Now I feel like reading them again.

I have a nearly complete set of Holmes stories, but I've only read the first two books. I should fix that.

They actually made this one into an episode. I would still love to read the book to see the similarities.

 

I'm not one for reading, but when a book is good it keeps my attention.

And while I'm thinking of it, wouldn't college be more fun if exams were more like the battle arena from The Hunger Games?

I just finished Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian." Very violent and nihilistic. Loved it.

 

School started up again. So far, I've been going through Huck Finn, The Illiad and Frankenstein.

I recently started back into the Wheel of Time books. I left off not quite halfway through The Shadow Rising, and now I'm...about halfway through. xp

It's a long book. What do you want from me?

 

Started reading Attack on Titan at Monkey's recommendation. I've finished 7 volumes, and it's still going strong. There aren't many clear cut stopping points, so I just ended up reading all of that in one go.

 

Finally, I got Pony Tales vol. 2 in the mail today, and I'm about to read that. It collects a number of comics featuring the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Celestia, Spike, and Princess Luna, in that order. The first volume (featuring each of the mane 6 in their own stories) was pretty entertaining, so I expect good things from this one.

 

EDIT: Luna's story was easily the best. It was gloriously hilarious.

Started reading Human Action by Mises through audiobook. Holy crap. This is fairly dense.

I'm also still reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

I'm listening to the audio book of Divergent. I wanted one for my 7-hour drive home (which passed by in a flash thanks to this book!). I'm on chapter 21 or or so :)
