I'll never get sick of this album.

I don't know why but that song just doesn't sit well with me. Love that album though.

I very much enjoy band music. Though admittedly it holds my interest longer if there's some context to it, like if it happens to be part of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack or what have you, and I can picture the scene it goes with.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the piece above - I've got a copy of the conductor's score with his notes on what it's meant to inspire images of. :D Wondering if it will match up. I think it's a brilliant piece of music, hopefully I'll get to play it one day soon.

The very beginning makes me think "1970s sci-fi." xp

1:45 makes me think it's time for a grand adventure.

2:17 starts the buildup to the first enemy encounter at 2:32

3:00 the tide of battle is shifting, and the foes are on the run!

Most of the changes are gradual or subtle enough that trying to pick out more times is pointless.

After a couple more minutes, it pulls away from "grand adventure" to focus more on the "characters" for a while.

Around 9:00 all the personal issue are worked out, and the adventure continues anew.

Time to assault the enemy stronghold!

But first, an inspirational interlude.

It keeps switching between quick skirmishes and rolling landscapes.

They've tamed the dragon that was holding the princess captive and are now flying through the sky on its back?

Money shot as they fly into the sunset.

Basically my mind interprets it as a fantasy RPG. =p

I absolutely love the cheesy electronic 80's sound of Sellorekt/ LA Dreams, and you should, too.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I'll never get sick of this album.

I don't know why but that song just doesn't sit well with me. Love that album though.

I think Don't Get Lost in Heaven is best heard within the album. It's a release from Fire Coming out of a Monkey's Head and it flows beautifully into Demon Days.

If I had to pick which song I like most though, it's probably:

And also the alternate version of Don't Get Lost is one of my favorite things:

It reminds me of We Are Happy Landfill. I don't think I ever really cared for the song until I heard the demo version. Now I love both.

I hated this song the first time I heard it. Thought it was nowhere as good as Give Up. But since I'm seeing them Wednesday! (:D!!!) I started listening a lot to the deluxe version and grew to like it a lot. Still no Clark Gable or We Will Become Silhouettes but it's pretty good.

Well Gorillaz always sounded like "pop" music, and from what I see pop really isn't seen much nowadays. So do you like music similar to theirs or just theirs? P.S. Sorry for not really wording it correctly.

A) Obviously not if you just looked at this topic. But I do love a lot of the sum of its parts. I just adore basically anything Damon Albarn does, and DJ Danger Mouse (who produced Demon Days).

B) Pop is a very generic term.

C) I don't anyone would really consider Gorillaz "pop" in the strictest definition of the term.

I classify Gorillaz as pop no doubt in my mind. If you want to split hairs it's Dark Pop, but that's just a sub-genre of Pop Music.

Clarification: I see anything that is written to chart well as being Pop Music. Gorillaz are definitely written with the ambition to chart well.

Not only that, but Gorillaz are manufactured pop. I think they're probably one of the best pop act of the 00s up there with Eminem, OutKast and Radiohead.

When I was younger I thought, "Ain't no hollaback girl!" was "I ain't none of that girl." I have bad hearing if you didn't notice.

Well I clarify Gorillaz as pop as well, but I don't think it was the same way Kyle was defining the term.

Almost everything in this thread is pop, of course.

You know about songs that sound pretty good but the videos always make you want to go, "what the shit did I just watch?'

This is one of these times.
