Everything that I posted up on here was obtained legally except the FMA series, the transformers movie, and my 2 sound tracks to the Final Fantasy AC movie and The Get Backers Anime OSTs

I've sunk too much money into these things lol

Prices are listed on each book, and each book in a series tends to cost the same amount. He probably just counted up how many of them were $10.99 and how many were $7.99 and multiplied.

Doing that, I believe my collection of manga cost me $1010.84 before sales tax.

yeah, like stars said. i have 163, and all of them except the naruto's cost 9.99, naruto costs 7.95 and i have 15 of those, calculator + sales tax.

I dont download anything... I've bought everything that I listed on that page except a couple of items, which i had someone give to me after they'd downloaded it :P

The site I used to download stuff from took a lot of the shows down now that they're licensed. I suppose I technically ought to go buy them all now, but that would be too expensive...

I have actually paid for a lot of stuff though. Just...not as much as I've downloaded.

I actually prefer very much to buy things.... For some reason I just like to have the actual product and not just files on my computer. :) But it would be kind of nice to see a couple of episodes of an anime I've never seen before shelling out all that money for the whole series. Of course, I guess most do have at least one or two episodes on youtube.

I like having actual copies of things too ('s why I buy anime CDs online instead of downloading soundtracks). It's just that money becomes an issue sooner or later. Plus a lot of stuff I get isn't even available to buy (in English) until several years later. I think Naruto is 3 years behind the Japanese anime right now, for instance. Plus, like you said, it's nice to be able to preview stuff without having to buy it.

I buy all of my manga becuase the local store is very lenient on me since i buy so much (they see me around twice a week and i usually buy 10-30$ worth, just my way of spoiling myself since nobody else is going to do it) and they'll let me return anything that I want since I keep business going, so i pour money into the books little by little - keep what i like and return what i dont / so sometimes it doesnt eat a hole in my wallet to buy, oh say, 9 books, return them a couple of times until i find something that I like, so out of those 9, i may end up reading around 50 different books until i find something that i like.

to be honest, through buying or exchanging books, i've probabbly gone through well over a thousand, but i only keep my 163 lol

Yeah, I've read bits of a lot more series than just what I own. I've only ever returned books that were defective though.

I'm considering starting a Hikaru no Go collection. Read the first volume at the store and though it was interesting. Plus I like go. =p

Oh man. I honestly don't know where to start with my anime collection. :/ I have about 4 full spindels, each holding 200 discs, lying around of burnt anime, about a third of that official DVDs I've burnt. Then on my hard drives lying around I have... shit tons of series too. :( And then there are the ones I've bought!

I believe there was a rumor about that in 2003, but I don't think it's been dubbed yet, and I haven't heard anything recently about it being licensed.
