You expect me to be able to answer that properly with a question? (Horror isn't my cup of tea.)

Who said it was a horror movie? (It is, but it isn't. It's Kubrick, it's hard to ever classify it as one genre. Especially horror, since one person dies in the whole movie, maybe more of a psychological mind fuck. If that's a genre. And, really, a great movie is a great movie, no matter what genre it is put into. If you really gloss over classics because of genre, you're missing out.)

What if I gloss over classics because of blood, gore, and a weak stomach? (Psychological mind fucks also aren't my cup of tea.)

EDIT: Are our parentheticals considered cheating?

Well what if I said none of those things are in The Shining? (Still not a great excuse. People could say OMG I DON'T LIKE ANIMATED THINGS, but I think both you and I would agree that they're missing out on great stuff with Miyazaki and Grave of the Fireflies.

What if I told you that there is only one scene in The Shining with blood in it, and it isn't even anything bad due to the way it is presented? (an elevator door opens and a tidal wave of blood comes out, and by blood, I mean it looks like fruit punch, and by something coming out of an elevator, I mean, nothing coming out of an elevator, because it was ghosts/hallucinations/mind fuck bull shit. But also yeah, the Shining, not Kubriks best movie, but its still really good. 2001 is spectacular, as is Dr. Strangelove.)

Who thinks the Simpsons parody of The Shining was scarier than the movie itself? (Yeah, The Shining really isn't the best Kubrick movie, but it's by far one of my favourite horror movies...if ONLY because it feels so Kubrick like, and not like a boring horror movie. I more or less tend to not care about horror anyways, once in a while there's a good one, but for the most part, eh. 2001 and Dr. Strangelove are <3. Although I personally am in LOVE with Eyes Wide Shut, despite such disdain it gets from some people, which I understand. I just enjoy it a lot.)

Is it really necessary to go into a rant about your opinions about movies when they are mentioned, like everyone was dying to know what you thought of the movie and it's directing?

This is not the greatest signature in the world. No, this is just a tribute...

Couldn't remember the greatest signature in the world. Yeeaaah, NO! This is a tribuuute! Ohhhhh. To the greatest signature in the world! All right! It was the greatest signature in the world all right.

And the peculiar thing is this, my friends. The signature I made on that fateful night didn't actually look anything like this signature! This is just a tribute. You've gotta believe me, and I wish you were there. Just a matter of opinion. Ah, fuck! Good God, God lovin'. So surprised to find you can't stop it. All right! All right.

Is it really necessary to actually try and stop actual conversation on this board just because you don't care for the subject, for whatever reason?

Are you inquiring that this film is horror, which it's not? (It really more falls under the catagory of psychological thriller/suspense/drama)

Don't I have a right to be confused when Monkey says it's not horror, then in a later post calls it one of his favorite horror films?

Maybe it's because it's more than just one genre? (I say it's my favourite horror film because people lump it in to that genre, but I mean, it's really hard to consider it a horror film if you consider horror films to be like Dawn of the Dead, Halloween, Friday The Thirteenth, The Ring, etc...because it's NOTHING like any of those films. http://www.thebig.tv...5a199d51ac9fc3c this has more blood and violence than the actual movie does)
