Would anyone be interested in seeing pictures showing my process in paintings? Basically just photos that would record each step along the way to the painting's completion. I have this nice, new camera which is doing very little currently, and I've had it recommended by professors in the past to take photos of this stuff, anyway, so I'm just curious as to whether anyone here would be interested in seeing it.

Plus, I'm hoping that if I do this, it might motivate me to keep painting. Lately I've been pretty shit on the whole 'making art' thing and today is basically the first day in six months that I've picked up my palette and brush.

Sweet! :D Well, I have two photos to start with.

One shows my primed canvas with the sketch of the painting (primed, in this case, also includes a paint-wash that was applied months ago)

The other is after I've done some actual painting. Sometimes with paintings I'll paint all around the canvas, never focusing on any one area for too long. Other times, I don't. Which is why only the stonework is painted.

(also, think I'll do head on photos from now on... I like taking the photo from an angle, but it seems annoying to view the painting from)

Straight on pics would probably be easier to see in most cases, but I like the extra look at your work area and references.

So, wet paint doesn't photograph well head on. Still experimenting with how to go about this.

I painted a whole lot over the course of Monday and Tuesday, so here are some more photos. The first is a photo of the 2nd's progress, since the paint for that had dried and is less reflective now, everything past that is new.

Now you've got me thinking about how cool it'd be for a character to have hair like in that third panel. XD

You always do such a good job with detail!
