Please dont, downvotes lead to abuse. There's no point to them, since bad posts don't get hidden. Upvotes pretty much only exist to tell a user their post was enjoyed without wasting another post.

I'm all for them if they don't hide posts at all. I'm sure I'd end up with a negative reputation score, but that's not a bother as long as all ideas no matter how unpopular can still be effectively voiced and debated.
