The launcher is just a simplified way to get all the needed addons and install the forge framework to minecraft.

My understanding is that all that requires is to put the mod files in the correct folders? I should be able to put together a script for that in the next week or so.

I'll rewrite the needed data, along with the url to the mods.zip folder and the url for the versioin.xml file that will contain info on if you need to update or not

I thought I had put all the folders in the correct places and got an error message when I tried to connect to the server. (See below post). I was waiting for the simplified launcher so I wouldn't have to fidget with it anymore. SO any progress is awesome in my book! I wish a had cool coding skills and could help out. Alas, I will be here. waiting...
Alright, I added the server, downloaded all the stuffs, ensured that I was running 1.7.10 version. When I try to connect to the server it seems to be stuck on the 'logging in' screen.Not certain what I'm doing wrong here. I tried restarting the game and my computer with no luck. I can connect to other servers with ease. It doesn't seem to time-out either. What am I missing?EDIT: This is Vicious trying to help out Spaz. I'm not sure what's going one. I think Spaz might not have patched the game for Forged, so I tried that, and was presented with this error.EDIT2: When running the MCPatcher, do the mods for the server need to be to be added to the "mods" list before patching? If so, I can't figure out how to do this.

I will publish a new code suring the weeken where you can actually decide where your minecraft is located though the interface a bit better. Right now it's using the default MC folder.
Also the forge handler doesn't always work, not sure why. but I will have that sorted shortly, I think I have made some version specification error.
as stated, a new version of the launcher will be presented, the current one works perfectly on MY PC, though it might have something to do with hardcoded patchs :D

Why are we using Minecraft 1.6.2? Why not 1.8.1?
1.8.1 has lots of custom world settings to play with.

the server is running on 1.7.10
The reason for this is the lack of updates yet available for the 1.8 variations.

The Lancher has theoretical support for any version. but the system is derived from a OpenSource (Epic Launcher) that was originally designed to version 1.6.2.
The actual settings that are applied in the launcher are as followed
