I'm sure all or most of us have that lingering doubt in our mind "why did I abandon so many projects, I have nothing finished now!" But when is it good to abandon a project? In my mind, it is good to abandon a project when it has no hope left. But how can one know?

What do you do?

BTW this has nothing to do with Among Thieves, was just reflecting on some of the projects I've started and never finished. I've completed three games in Rpg Maker. Two were called Weed Rpg & Weed Rpg Too High, the last was a silly side project called Three hour chronicle of the idiot Mage. All were done from like 12-15. Every serious project I've attempted has gone far in but never completed. My wirk rate back then was crazy though.

I don't know. I suppose when the amount of work you put into overtakes the amount of joy you get out of that work. On the other hand, it's only then that you start to really get into the project, and when you start learning and honing your craft.

I have many abandoned projects. Probably that haven't seen the light of day than anybody, because I don't like to talk about things I'm doing until there's something (good) to show for it, and when I give up before that point, nobody sees it.

I don't know. Probably I should say there isn't a good time to give up a project, but what do I know?

I think the only time I would abandon a project is if I didn't believe in it anymore.

If you're sick of working on a project, have a creative block, or are stuck on a problem, a break may be in order.

If you feel the project isnt worth finishing because you've realized the concept is weak and it's something you will never be proud of, then it may be time to abandon it. I've found that rarely happens, though. You may have to redesign virtually everything, but most projects can be salvaged.

Old flash signature has been revived for nostalgic purposes. Too bad RpgWizard hasn't been revived. :\

You wouldn't know any of my regular names and I never worked on any games.
