Minor correction: EPL (English Premier League) - Scotland (and Wales to a lesser extent) have their own leagues. So even though both Swansea and Cardiff are non-English British teams in the Premier League, they are exceptions. The Premier League is, as a general rule, for English teams only.
England is just the country. Great Britain is the island including Scotland & Wales (and Cornwall, but that's another issue) as well as what are called the British Isles. The United Kingdom also includes Northern Ireland, which is not part of the British Isles as it is part of Eire (more commonly just called Ireland).
It may seem trivial, but trust me, when you live here it's not.
