I wasn't going to make a new topic for this, but I didn't see one that it fit in. I have been molding this idea around in my mind for about two years now and I haven't told anyone about it except that I would like to write a book again. I wrote a couple children's books when I was young, but since then I've only written a few research papers for fun on top of the normal school required riff-raff.

I've finally decided to "break ground" on this book idea that's changed over the past two years. By that I mean, I've put pen to paper writing the first draft of the outline. I don't want to give too much away, but it's about what I guess you could call "streets' rules of politics". These are rules that I know are 100% true 100% of the time for any government in any situation anywhere. For example: no government can create wealth.

I don't know how long it will be, I just know what I need it to include. I'm going to try my hardest to make it as accessible as possible. Yes, I fully plan to work on it until it is published.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Power to you. I've been intending to write something for years, and it hasn't happened yet. (And my stuff would more likely be speculative fiction rather than political commentary.)

Be sure to get that translated into Mandarin so that 1.4 billion Chinese people can realize how wrong they are.

I'll leave my disagreements with your entire premise out of this, and just give you two pieces of advice:

1.) Research. A lot. We're talking approaching-a-full-time-job level of research, here.
2.) Cite. For the love of God, Zeus, or whichever of their crazy step-brothers you listen to, CITE EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY CAN.*

Both of those things will greatly improve the chances of any publisher even bothering to pay attention to what you're doing.

*Type of citation style is at your discretion I believe, but finding out which one the Economics / PoliSci community uses and then learning that would be greatly beneficial. Each discipline tends to have their own style, and it's a good idea to use it.

So, I wasn't really sure whether to put this in the Serious Discussion Topic or here soooo I flipped a coin. This is my final research paper for my English 102 class and I thought it was pretty good (especially since I threw it together in four hours. Apparently, staring at it and saying, "I don't want to do this." doesn't get it done.). If you want to give it a read, here it is:
