Yep, looks like a flop waiting to happen. I give it about a year before they shut off the servers.

I'm pretty sure this will play more like WoW than any Elder Scrolls game.

I'm waiting for there to be news about level 81 jerkasses eating level 1 beginners before they can accomplish anything.
Being made by Bethesda, anything is possible.

pointless and in the way of the next gen ES.
Not particularly, since the team that's making ESO isn't the team that makes main series ES/Fallout games.

that team could be adding its talent to those, and make them even better. mmo's are way too big and steal all the good ideas by the boatload.
Game studios don't really work like that though. They usually have teams working on various projects and they rarely ever overlap. So even if they weren't busy with ESO they wouldn't be working on a new ES.

Yeah, I hope that the game is as good as it's getting billed as. Though I'm pretty sure bethesda is working on the next fallout game right now. if that's any indication that they definitely don't let their teams overlap.

I don't see this as a waste of Bethesda's time, seeing as they aren't making it, they are just giving permissions. It'll be interesting to see where they take TES in this, I read in a article that they will keep block mechanics, however I do think it'll be like Oblivion and before, where you select a class, which is upsetting, seeing as in Skyrim you could be a sneaky tank (As much as that doesn't make sense.).

You could be a sneaky tank in Oblivion, too. It was a tad easier in Skyrim, sure, but custom classes have been a part of TES since Daggerfall.

Everything in Skyrim was made a tad easier, which made it good for new players to get the feel quickly, then increase the difficulty. Since I am too young, I wouldn't have played Daggerfall, so can you explain them to me? I am getting the impression it is like the class you choose at the beginning and then tweak it.

I haven't played Daggerfall, but in Morrowind and Oblivion, your "class" was mostly just a selection of skills that started higher and increased a little bit faster. You only gained levels by increasing your class skills, but you could still use every skill in the game without penalty.

I didn't like how skills were handled in Skyrim. I hope they return to Morrowind style but I'm doubtful.

I dunno. I kinda preferred it in Skyrim. Though I do wish they would work stats back in to the game, just to allow for more specialized characters. Though, I suppose the perk system allows for specialization. But I really did like not having to force myself to level up unused skills just so I could get a +5 bonus to whatever stat.

I agree with Parker, Skyrim made it so you can use a bow, then a shield, then some restoration magic and you get an increase in all those skills. I don't like the idea of choosing the tank role, and then getting bored and want to run a stealth class.

Whenever that happened to me in Morrowind and Obivls, I just made a new character. That also let me try out different races at the same time if I got tired of being a Dark Elf or what have you.

I never got tired of being a sneaky Dark Elf that brews his poison for his arrows and burns his targets he kills.

I liked the leveling system of Skyrim more as well, I also believe it made the game more accessible to the public(non-fans of Bethesda)
