It's not a problem really, I just think it's better. Can you imagine if every post I make in "What are you listening to?" was just a link that you had to click on before you found out what track it is? That'd be lame. By embedding it people can see the video I mean first and are then free to decide not to click on it without being drawn away from the messageboard. It'd also make The Brilliant Youtube Clip Thread more readable.

Also I already have way too many tabs open already.

And there were a couple of posts months ago from people asking how to do it which I never got back to.

I do agree that having it embedded is usually easier, but I would probably despise it if I did not have flashblock.

You can also use media tags.

But you can't use a short version of the URL (I think) and it can't have any extra URL variables (I think)

That would explain why media tags didn't work when I tried them.

Though that is cool, I guess that way you can embed video from a fast reply.

Why do you use flashblock? It sounds kinda inconvenient.

The most common problems I see that keep media tags from working are "youtu.be" and "https" instead of "http" in the url. Keep an eye out for those, and the tags should work fine. If they still don't work, try deleting anything at the end of the url starting with an ampersand(&).

To prevent all flash from auto playing. Sometimes ad block misses an ad, or I just want to open a YouTube video in a background tab for later. It's not inconvenient because it requires just one click to load the video. And in Firefox (and I assume other browsers), you can add a button to your menu bar to enable or disable flash block on the fly, just in case you find a non-cooperative website (like band camp...)

Okay, your story checks out. I was just confused because embedded videos do not autoplay.
