Okay, so, I had this idea. And the way I see it, one of the many contributing factors to this site's stagnation is the fact that it is choked with old crap. And further more, people are mostly only posting in old topics. This has resulted in mostly only a few really active topics that are dozens of pages long, which can be daunting to new posters. Now I'm not saying that getting rid of every topic here will makes things better and promote new growth, but I think it will at least promote more activity among those who are all ready established here, and it would really make these message boards seem more attractive. So, in case I wasn't clear, my proposal is to either delete, or move (to an archive) EVERY THREAD here. All of them, without exception. If people really like a certain thread, they can post a new one.

So what do you say? Yay? Nay? And why?

And also, if this does end up making approval, I'd be more than willing to take on this task.

I'd have to say no. Places that do this usually end up alienating current users, and rarely get new ones. If you see people posting in all the same threads, that's because they don't have anything new to post. If you get rid of those threads they post in, they'll just stop posting.

In addition, it will make the forum seem even more uninhabited. Just a few threads here and there... Nobody wants to join a forum that doesn't have any old threads.

Beside which, this fails to address the real problem. There's nothing at MonkeyPro. Everybody seems to think just having a forum is enough to have people come and post, but there's nothing at this site. There's no reason to come here once, let alone twice or more. Someone needs to make a game (DS) and someone else needs to... Do something. Make a game, a video, whatever. Something just needs to happen here.

Nothing needs to be done to make the forum more attractive. Just having a forum isn't a draw, you need something on the site, and if it's interesting, people will come to the forum. That's all.
