I know what I'm going to be addicted to.
(Unless this happens to be a RPG)

But since this is reality, they're just going to take the franchise name, turn it into a bland and unrelated MMO, make some money, and watch as we flip them off.
*wanders off to look at the game Civilization 5 he's heard so much about*
Not "conspiracies". Conspiracy. Singular.

That's what I thought too.But Age of Empires already goes online.
Oh gaaaawd. Civilization 5. Nobody should ever even let me touch that game considering what happens to me if I install Civilization IV...
*thinks about installing that*

Tragic to see them go to a more cartoon style of artwork, but I am intrigued by this "persistent world" thing. Being able to have a constant empire might be cool, especially if friends can combine their empires to ravage others. Just hoping I can adjust to the new art.

But...it's free, and I have to pay for certain parts, and just...argh I don't know.

The aim, presumedly, is also to allow the game to run fine on lower spec machines so that plebs and students are able to play comfortably.

I have nothing against either really. I just prefer clear, usable interfaces that maximize my gaming zen.Yeah, I agree. Generally if it's a choice between silly cartooniness and dark gritty realism I'll take the former.
