So for $5 you can get Morrowind, my most favorite game ever (and I know a favorite of many here), on Steam, my favorite game platform. That's pretty awesome, really. You should think about it.

Also, I guess they have some good deals on other Bethesda titles... but, eh.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

You see, I don't really understand why people buy things off steam. Surely if you don't want the physical disc to archive on your mantelpiece you'd just torrent the game.

Steam offers nothing except a cynical sense of moral superiority for being able to afford to buy the game officially rather than pirating it. And all this does is to perpetuate the myth that filesharing is a major threat to freedom and civil liberties, rather than just a threat to corporate profits.

I wanted orange. It gave me lemon-lime...

I treat it like any other online store, except it's faster because I don't have to wait to receive anything in the mail. That plus I don't have to worry about a disc getting lost or scratched beyond use.

Also, two things I'm just going to put out there:
I have a physical disc for the Orange Box, and it installed through Steam anyway.
I torrented Starcraft, and it was unable to connect to any online matches.

The only games I really buy on steam are ones I need to buy legally to fully enjoy online.

Plus, they have some pretty awesome sales. Fore example, I got the entire Orange Box for $10.

This is sort of how I feel. If I pay for something, I want something physical that I can't reproduce myself through pirating, which is why I will always buy CD's/vinyl over MP3's if it can be helped (but yes, I pirate a lot of music, too).

Although Steam makes a lot more sense than Itunes does to me, and is a good alternative to pirating. I mean, I can pay 5 dollars for a game.
