Lost Finale

For me, it means that I'm going to be giggling like an over-excited japanese school girl pretty consistently for the next couple of weeks (yes, even well after the finale).
Lost is far from a perfect show, but it is my favorite. I've loved every mystery, every plot-hole, every dropped story-line, and the deaths of every character I've hated Nikky and Paolo, I'm looking at you. Best use of an icky spider ever. over these last six years. I love it so much that I'm glad its coming to a conclusion. And my god I cannot wait until Sunday night.
And I'm just nerdy enough to be going to this event tonight: http://www.fathomeve...talks_lost.aspx
I know this forum doesn't have a lot of Lost fans, but I do hope you all give it a try. Now that people can no longer claim, "they'll be dragging it on forever" or "they just make it up as they go along" (which, with this show at least, has happened a lot less than the naysayers believe).
Due to the popularity of the show, it's uber easy to find on torrents. Oh, and Hulu has every episode of the first five seasons until the end of the year.
Where else are you going to find a hot pocket used as a deadly weapon, or watch an assassin be killed with a dishwasher? All in the same episode? That's right, nowhere.
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

No way I'll be able to catch up now, though. I'll have to try this summer.

The Lost Finale is a lie. It's impossible to make it coherent enough for it to all actually end.
I dunno, if they can pull it off with Alias, they can pull it off with anything...

Something tells me you've watched barely any of the show. It's more coherent than most shows on TV, even those that don't try to have any sort of fantasy element. The Lost Finale is a lie. It's impossible to make it coherent enough for it to all actually end.

And I've only seen like 6 or 7 episodes at random, or rather as I happen to be around people who happen to remember to turn on the tv and watch the new episode.
"Lost" is the appropriate sentiment, methinks.

The show kept with its tradition of not doing at all what I had expected (not that I had any major theories). And the ending was a little soft.... But honestly, it all makes sense now. Well, almost everything.
But, if nothing else, the show seems to have finally answered one question that has gone unanswered since 1994: what exactly is in Marsellus Wallace's suitcase?

If you're looking for some hardcore explanations of all of the islands mysteries, you may want to just stick the first five seasons, and come up with your own theories.

Yeah, I think that's what I was trying to get at before. I only really cared about the island's mysteries. The whole Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle stuff really bored me silly.I would suggest still watching it. It's worth it. In the context of what the show was always about (the characters), it ends very well.

Though I hear Richard becomes by far the most interesting character and is completely unresolved at the end.

I think I quite enjoyed it. Having seen it for myself now I think the conclusion did well to tie everything together in a way that was consistent with the lore. It also kind of reminded of the first season in how they structured the episodes.
Couldn't have really asked for anything more from Lost but it wasn't exactly the best season finale I've seen (which goes to Six Feet Under).
