I saw this tonight with BLU and Ben.
I enjoyed it. To be honest, I didn't even knew it existed until last week when I saw the trailer with Date Night. I thought it looked ridiculously stupid...but after seeing reviews for it (minus Ebert's review) I did grow interested in it.
I thought it was enjoyable, pretty depressing though. If anyone has read Ebert's review, or heard about it, I think he has a point...but not so much that it derails the enjoyability of the film so much that it's a horrible movie. I think it's well within the point of the movie with of what people disagree with. There is a reason why this is rated R and not PG-13. BUT I don't know, I didn't find it that horrible to the point to say the movie is worthless.
I liked it, one of the better super hero movies I've ever seen.

I laughed a lot, but I think I found myself agreeing with Ebert a bit more than I expected to. I liked the movie, but I doubt I will ever want to see it again..
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Yeah, me too. I'd probably watch it if I got to for free, but I have no interest in ever seeing it again, I don't think anything would be gained from me watching it a second time, other than probably slowly gaining a distaste for it.
I would, however, watch a sequel if it gets made. And it did make me excited that in a few weeks we'll have Iron Man 2.

maybe ill see it this weekend. i make it a point to disagree with Ebert after his zero star review of Freddy Got Fingered. also after watching a really bad sexploitation film he directed.

I tend not to read critics reviews on anything because I reserve criticism based on my own values and what I get out of movies. Critics critique from their point of view, not mine, thus I tend not to agree with a lot of them.
I went to go see Kickass with full knowledge that it was a comic book to movie, but I had never read the comic book. This didn't disturb me in the least. There's also a comic of the Losers which I've never read, but the movie trailer still interested me.
Anyway, the movie was enjoyable and it actually had some good themes to it. It wasn't exactly one of the most fantastic or awe-inspiring movies that I've seen in the last 5 years, and it certainly didn't
rank high enough to make it into my Blu-Ray list, but it was a good, enjoyable flick that was only mitigated by the fact my ex-girlfriend was sending me retardedly emo texts throughout the whole movie.
