how would a pokemon evolve a hair tie? unless its a basic. with kadabra/alakazam, i could accept the spoons being psychicly created.

Did you never question Primeape's metal bracelets? Machamp's belt? Hypno's medallion? Hitmonchan's gloves? Magmar's metal bracelets? Granbull's metal collar? All but one of those are from the original 150 and I guess they stopped having clothes because it didn't make sense. Who knows, maybe it will be a Grass type and its grass band or the hair is just tied in a knot.

For such a relevant topic though, there sure is a lack of discussion.

Moreso than what new pokemon we'll see, I'm more curious about what alteration they'll make to the game dynamics. There always is between generations. For instance-
2nd- Special stat split into SpAttack/SpDefense
3rd- Abilities and Natures added
4th- Attacks split into physical/special

What will it be this time...?

I never really thought about that. Everyone always talks about the game mechanics like day/night and the berries, but those were significant changes to the Pokemon themselves. The split of Special into Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense made a lot of sense as did the split of physical and special attacks. If you physically hit them, it's physical! And boy did the abilities change things. As far as what the next change could be...

primeape- primeape is obviously a badass with the stud bracelets, so i wont ask.
machamp- it's a title belt won from another heavyweight champion pokemon. pro wrestling is huge in japan, so its understandable that when a machamp is taken out of the wild, its title is vacated, but it keeps the belt. as for evolving one, that depends on what exactly evolution is. in the anime, its a glow and a spurt of growth to us, but to the pokemon who knows?
hypno is also psychic, so its a psychicly created medallion
hitmonchan/magmar- theyre basic pokemon, so theyre probably skin growths/skeletal functions. as for hitmonchan's tutu, could you imagine if that was a big flap of skin, like human papiloma virus? ew.


ign had a hands on preview that didnt say much new about the game besides overhauls on the setting, and making ru/sa/em pkm available

I was considering the more than four moves thing, but I think that might upset the balance -too- much. For one, the metagame would just explode. Boom. Gone. Just like that. And there would be a -lot- of broken combos, especially with stall Pokemon.

Kasper- that's for HGSS. Those are both fourth generation games; old news. This is the new wave. Get with it, yo.

If this is related at all to another topic on her on MP, I'd say, in Japan, late this year. Or something about 1000 years of the monkey or what not.

Anyway...

What I think I would like to see, not sure how it would be aplicable, but you know how Day-Night became kind of sort of integrated into the overworld mechanics in G/S/C? What if they also shot for seasons? Maybe everyweek starting on Monday, it would be a new season, alowing access to different pokemon that exist that one time of year?

Other than that, the only think I could actually think of would be maybe a secondary abilities?

And I don't know if that'd be a wolf. judging by the triangular shape of the head and the small front paws... I'd say it's probably a fox. And if it was a wolf, I'd be very disappointed. Japanese tend to depict wolves with non-triangular heads and oversized claws n paws. like this guy from megaman SF.

You will recall something similar if you look at that garurumon guy from digimon.

I would like to see a Pokemon game with a persistent world like Animal Crossing, and at least some other trainers, since all would be a bit ridiculous, moving around and actually trying to complete a quest. Sort of like the rival, but just other trainers that aren't required battles.

What do you mean by a persistand world like animal crossing? I only remember that you could link up and visit someone else's town and that was it.

Anyways, yeah, they need to do more with trainers. Maybe do something like animal crossing and have an internal calendar that triggers holiday specific events or something.

Hmm... what do I want from pokemon now?

Character customization- I'd rather choose my own character type and colors to go with it.

I want secret bases back. I want to battle my friend's teams when they're not online. And I want the secret base to give you a choice as to how you fight your opponent's pokemon. lvl 50 match, lvl 100 match, match your party's highest pkmn level, and raw (original levels).


and/or I want a friend rival system where your games exchange data and it saves your teams and levels after beating a gym leader. Then when you get to that town, you can fight 'em after your gym fight like an ingame rival. And he/she'd be at level comparable to your own, since it'll be how strong they were when they beat the leader.

I want more sidequests. Or the ability to join the bad guys and make choices that affect the ending when you become the champion/post-E4 objectives.

I want fewer legendaries. Or make them more badass than some wierd shaped sprites. I didn't like the lake pokemon...

I kinda like the pre-evolution, but don't think its that unique design wise. The evolution though I...don't like. It's mostly its face; it looks like it is wearing stage makeup. I guess its cool that we got another pure dark type since right now that only consists of Umbreon, Mightyena, and Absol, but Cy and I were talking about how a Dark/Fighting would have be awesome.

eh, I was just thinking of stuff they could do that I'd want to see. After the evees and nintails... who really wanted another fox? Like someone else pointed out, it looks like a cross between Shadow and that fox pokemon from digimon where they used the cards.

agreed, though I don't think those will be the english names for them. atm, those are just direct pronounciation translations. Though zoro is fox in spanish.

perhaps though, dark + zoro = zoroark?
