I've got loads of ideas for games, but RM2K3 hasn't cooperated the last few times I tried to make anything with it (it spazzes out when I try to launch games).

Pretty sure I have ya beat, buddy. ;) Worst part is that this is really only about 60% of the game, too! I mean it's all playable, something like 9-10 hours of it. Abandoned it a year and a half ago after just as much time spent making it to pursue novel writing instead of game-creation. Aaaalso maybe because it was a little too ambitious for one person to handle on his own.

It was a really, really good game too (not to sound big headed or anything...)! :<

I'd love to see your game when finished. I haven't played an RPG Maker game in ages.

Hey now, I work on it every 2 months for like 2 days. It's not completely dead... just... y'know. 99.9999999%.

I still haven't played Gens 1 (other than the Christmas demo, I think). I WANT TO SEE MY CAMEO. :(

I still work occasionally, but I just restarted my project a week or so ago. Now that I have someone working with me to take care of the technical side, hopefully things will work this time.
Also, I upgraded to VX. Sue me.

I'm going to refrain from posting much until I have something to release. Before then, the most I might do is a battle-demonstration video. But that's yet far off.

how do you like vx so far?

im going to start a game this weekend, and hopefully have it done by monday. its going to be super short and incredibly simple. I just want to make it so that I know I can actually finish a game for the sake of finishing it. its not going to be great, its just going to be something finished.

i wanna say itll be something like final fantasy 1, where you just have to go do stuff, but ill have to see when i get to it.

I have script work-arounds neutralizing most of VX's dumb features (auto-shadows; single tileset) and I never touch the default menus or battle system, so it's like any other RM to me. It's cleaner than XP though, and more functional than 2k3, so, therefore, I think it's a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.

I might have to dig out my demo of VX to see if I want to try making something with it.
Partly because of my award, and partly because 2k3 still isn't cooperating with me.
