I'm glad at least some of you have read and loved the WoT series, so I won't have to go on and on, trying to sell you the book series.

I don't know if you all are aware of the somewhat recent news that there may be a tv series of it in the works.

So what do we discuss?

Who we hope is the studio picking up the rights. And like the link below, who we might wish to play certain roles.

http://www.tor.com/2...ime-adaptation/

I hope HBO gets it because I look at the Shannara chronicles first episode and just shudder in a corner for a while after throwing up.

on a side note: when I look at articles proposing other series getting screen time, I'm happy to see people mention the Farseer trilogies.

After reading that article, Padan Fain absolutely needs to be played by Paul Reubens.

My knowledge of current actors is very limited, so I currently have nothing to suggest for the purpose of debate/fantasizing. I find the choices that fellow lists to be generally acceptable though.

Golem 2.0?

I was liking her choice for Faile. Not so much for Perrin.

And though he's not much like the description, Ken Wantanabe would be a badass as Lan.

Christoph Waltz would make a good Ishamael or other chosen. (you know, the guy who was that one german in Inglorious Basterds)

Casper Crump would be a good choice too, after his work as Vandal Savage in the Flash.

Ishamael needs someone who is dramatically eloquent to play the part. The first scene where he gloats over Lews Therin is important to get right...

That cast list is... Interesting. I don't know how to feel about a WoT TV show... I mean I loved the first four books, but the story really started to peter out towards the middle, and I don't know if a running series could handle such a slump after the original excitement wears off.

They probably could if they artfully moved forward in time a bit. Besides, they'll have us read ones who will make then tough it out until the later action sequences.
