Guys

Watch this

Watch it now.

I heard about this through some little comic on dA (random, I know, but bear with me) and it was amazing. Probably one of the best cartoons I've watched in a while. It's a mini series that follows two brothers who are lost in the woods and are trying to find their way home. They meet an old woodcutter, a talking blue bird, as well as half a dozen other charming and creepy characters. The art style is not unlike Steven Universe and Adventure Time, but with kind of an old fashioned charm to it, which really reminds me of old story books. If you enjoy stuff that can be cute and funny, yet downright macabre and melancholic with a lot of depth, you should give it a try. Since it's a mini-series, it only has 10 episodes, each only about 11 minutes long, so it doesn't take long to watch.

I've watched the first 3 episodes. I like it. It has a odd sense of familiarity. Not sure why. I agree with you on the animation part. With all it's simplicity it has stunning moments of beauty. I'll continue watching.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I haven't seen it yet, but I have it on my Watch Later list (which I guess no one else uses?) so that I don't forget about it.

I finished this about 2 days ago now. I loved it!
After scouring the internet and seeing it refered to as a mini series everywhere I went, I became incredibly sad. I wanted more. Even though everything was all wrapped nice... I just... Wanted more.
VP and I will be watching all of it in a day or so together.

Haha, that's basically how I felt. I'd think it'd be interesting if they had a few more mini-series set in the same world, but with different characters who are in the Unknown for their own reasons, whether they're aware of them or not, like Wirt Greg (though, while I love Wirt and Greg, I don't know if it would be suitable to have them return, since it feels like their stories are complete).

Apparently, the mini-series was based off a short called Tome of the Unknown, which I really want to watch just to have that much more, but I can't find a video of it. =/

I can't seem to find it either. I'll employ VP's help when he gets home from work.

He and I watched a few episodes together last night. He favorite scene thus far is this:

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Bee and I have been wanting to watch this since before it aired, but we've just been so busy. We finally marathoned it today and I really love it. It's everything I look for in a story/animated show. I agree with wanting more but it works so well on its own.

I'm really glad Flapjack/Adventure Time did so well. I'm not saying it bed impossible but without them I doubt things like this would exist, and all the amazing talent that's come out of those shows.
