Trope the Person Above You

TVTropes is a large database of user-submitted articles about writing devices called tropes. It functions similarly to wikipedia - even with the addictive hyperlinks - but it's noted for being significantly more informal. Under each trope entry, there is a list of all known examples. Since tropes can be applied to every medium, examples can range from novels to live-action tv shows to even anime & manga (and possibly real-life or historical examples, too). Additionally, you can reverse lookup a trope by the novel/anime/event/show/etc.. in question: each entry should have a corresponding list of tropes that this item exemplifies.
That being said, I'll create an example. Pretend the imaginary poster above me is Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. Then I might use The Determinator as a trope that will describe him, because well, he may have one of the largest surpluses of Heroic Spirit and determination I have noticed in an anime character.
It might seem a bit cumbersome and needlessly complicated, but once you get the ball rolling, it gets very fun very easily. Shall we give it a try, MPers?

"He's big, muscular and angry looking. He might even be an actual monster. People are often fearful of him. But he's got a heart of gold. He loves children and puppies, and frequently abhors unnecessary violence. He probably has a few unexpected hobbies. He's the Gentle Giant. However, when push comes to shove, he's great to have on your side in battle."
Because of the Misconceptions topic.
I think Vicious may have blocked it years ago to discourage people from calling him that. =pedit: why can't i say fluff y?

Not to be redundant, but the Nice Guy (or Gal) is nice. Maybe not a saint, but definitely no loner or edgy rebel. They're friendly, psychologically well-balanced, morally average (if not better) and in short, someone anyone wouldn't mind to be around and have as a friend, which is often what they are to the hero and/or his extended cast.
