Happy birthday Monkey Productions!
This site has gone through a lot of changes through the years. It started as a small little RPG Maker team, dedicated in making a game. No one who started with me is still here, other than Toys. We had quite the group, Zephyr, Asura, GlacierMage, Locke, Sinclair, Funsocks, etc...all taken from various places like the RPG Wizard, RPG Wolfpack, and Don's. As we grew, since I hired people just about every week in hope to make the team productive, we eventually had a public forum (both hosted on Ezboard) and something of a site. However, our community was always very much embedded into the community of RPG Wizard and it always felt like Monkey Productions was a child of RPG Wizard, like Epiphany Productions/Gaming or Brotherhood or DRPG all seemed to have most of its members frequent the Wizard far more than the sites they came from.
Eventually, I lost my internet, Glace fell off the internet, and a lot of the people just lost their pizazz (I can't believe that's a word). So Monkey Productions sat in limbo for a while, the forums still up, but very rarely did one post. No ones games got any farther in production, not my Fireline or Toy's Quota Mezzo. Funscoks helped keep the community and team alive a bit with his wild west game project on a platform that wasn't RPG Maker. Me pitching in from time to time. But that eventually fell through too.
Around a year or so later, I got my internet back. I talked with Zephyr and Toys, and we were both interested in starting the team back up. So we tried to recruit old members, which didn't work very well. We ended up just having the three of us, Hyperlisk, and a girl I knew...ArcImpulse, I think. And sadly the Wizard had died by the time I got back on the internet, and MP was revived, and DRPG was about to die. I started work on a game, which is now long gone in my boomspeed account, and started a new website on Frihost, where I happened to meet Eyre and a fellow named Noobie4Life who helped out Monkey Production's forums considerably during this phase. We had a very small community during this time. Mainly getting members from a few curious RPG Wolfpack people and Epiphany Gaming members (most notably Bear). Since I was still active on the Wolfpack, as I always had been, and me and Toys decided to join Epiphany Gaming and be members there.
Then one day, I don't even remember how (probably EG), I met my English brother, Kenny. If it wasn't for him, the site probably wouldn't be what it is now. He for whatever reason, bought the domain name and paid for MP's server for the first year. I have no idea why he did this, but he is quite the saint for doing so, I very much appreciate everything he's done for the site. This was probably the most prosperous of all times for Monkey Productions. When we jumped ship from Frihost to the server Kenny bought us. He even made us a layout (several over the years) that stayed with us for years. The Paper Mario/Super Mario world layout, which I quite enjoyed. Kenny contributed to the site in resources too. As well as a few awesome other members, like Stars, Tani, Hyperlisk, Christo, KoG, and Paradiro.
Sadly though, Monkey Productions has usually had a very lazy staff, so every spout of prosperity the site has gotten over the past few years, slowly dwindles away until something new comes along. Luckily for Monkey Productions, sites seem to die a lot. Sites with members who need places to go. We sadly saw RPG Wolfpack go shortly after the jump from Frihost, and Jerkald the webmaster set up the url to link to here for a while, in which we snagged some significant members such as Kasper, Ryo, and Vash. Epiphany Gaming also ended up dying, which helped get us members from there who I very much enjoy and wish they would all come and post (coughkogchristolibertyetccough).
One of the Epiphany Gaming members will forever put his mark on this site, and no I'm not talking about Tani even if he will probably release the best RPG this site will ever get, and that member is Dampe. Oh Dampe. He asked me to help him with OOT2D, and I agreed, and offered to host the site and everything on Monkey Productions. Long story short, which most of you know, it failed, and Dampe' fails. However it did spark activity.
And basically, nothing has happened that is very significant, other than some downtime and zealots and zoos and spanish pirates. I don't know if the site is going to reach it's eighth birthday. I want this site to last forever, as I am sure a few of you do too. Yet the lack of effort that goes to maintain this site, and keep the community going, is very little. I do appreciate you all so very much for continuing to support the site. My real life friends, like Lenny, Chase, Nick, Josh, and Sameer have always been a big reason this site continues to exist. Especially Chase, Nick, Kaye, Toys, Sovs, and Jehuty willing to help make an actual game if we ever get that far. Also a big thanks to Chase, Invince, and of course Kenny, for paying for the site when I can't. Kaye must be thanked a million times over for all the art and effort she's give to the site, for really nothing at all, the same goes to Eyre in the forum banners and trying to make games for us all to play. Invince of course has been a big part of Monkey Productions in the past few years, always making this place fun, with ducks and cyborgs and Illuminati (as well as Sap). rekaru for trying to make the game making forum worth while, as well as Bear. Bear has been a big help to the forums too, giving us IPB and getting the word out for MP and some of its projects. Stars, RMN, Pupp, Jess, Dutch Spam Brothers, Lazlo, Jody, Billy, Burbank, Kasper, Ryo, Swift, Midfizzlings, Sap, Rose, Lycanth, Vash, Resonator, Skull, Shadow, whoever I can't think of right now, thank you all so very much for posting and staying active, and doing whatever you guys do. I really appreciate it, especially the ones who come back and continue to post. I wish I could thank everyone more personally, but bleh. Also thanks Toys, for being the only member still here with me from the very start of this whole crazy production company.
I hope this site, through it's seven years, has brought some kind of fun and joy in your life. I hope we can continue having it for longer. Thanks. We may be small, but I really enjoy having you guys around.

MP will never die - it shall become the oldest site on the interwebs.
EDIT: I always find it really trippy when while I'm typing a response, somebody else responds before me. Especially when I wasn't even aware they were reading the topic. HAI SAMEER!
Oh, and I thought'd 'pizazz' was supposed to be 'pizzaz'. And now that I know it isn't, that Demetri Martin joke is a bit less awesome

I can't believe this site's been here for that long. o: That's super crazy. It's like a grandpa of sites or something, watching all the other forums around it grow up and die.
What's also crazy is that I joined a little over three years ago...

All in all MP will survive. I don't think any of us have anywhere else to go. Or maybe that's just me >_<

I still remember the long series of forums I went through before finally coming to reside here, though I don't think any of them exist any longer.
Alternative Gamemaking (site of the guy who made Sunset over Imdahl)
Cedar Woods (Ruby Angel was a member at both of those sites)
Epiphany Gaming (stole most of CW's members when CW went poof for the bazillionth time)
Silver Forums (where the faithful would hang out when CW and EG were both MIA)
Cloud's Forums (where Monkey told me I needed to join MP)
Those were crazy times. I think it's great that Monkey Pro has hung around for so long without disappearing into the void of the net like so many other forums. I love you guys! <3

I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure that you did find Kenny on EG, because I vaguely recall him being on Rathnar before the merge with CW. I think he may have offered me hosting and such well once too.
Hey... did anybody ever find out what happened to Ruby Angel? Last I heard, wasn't she still seriously sick or something? I can't remember what it was...

Yay, I was mentioned for being ambiguously helpful. Twice. =D

:D That's practically my list, too! Only, add DarkolicRPG in place of Alternative Gamemaking, then add in Fazline, Stargate, and UnderergroundRPG between Cedar Woods and Epiphany Gaming... And WoA! Somewhere.

Still... Has Monkey Productions ever produced anything? I'd really like to know.

Or, to put it more politely, "Neener neener."

Come Come Ninja, Othello, and Snake. There's probably more stuff that's been lost over the years.
