I can see that. Though so far, nothing gets in the way. I typically have my main window (firefox or abiword, or whatever i'm doing) about that same size on my desktop with some space along the bottom, with trillian, and trillian chat windows, in the surrounding empty space. I also use the sidebar in firefox for my bookmarks, and the wonderful sage plug-in. The sidebar in firefox disappears when I don't need it anymore, and if I ever need a bigger window, I can always just go full screen.

Not that I can really defend this set up just yet. I've officially been using it for about 4 hours... but still. I like the way it operates so far.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Acutally, the blue is going to be just a hair lighter once I get around to recompiling things. Silly DWM and it's lack of config files making me have to edit the source everytime I wanna change something.

More experimenting.

I don't normally like docks for launching programs. I fail to see how they are an improvement over... anything. However, Lifehack again has me playing around. I have a dock on both my laptop and desktop, but they use really subtle animations (rather than doing stupid things like growing when the mouse goes over them--that's far too annoying). Though on Linux I still pretty much use the run command key binding to launch everything... I just wanted a more consistent look between my computers.

Also, the complete contrast of the colors between the computers is intentional. And to give you more of an idea of what it all looks like, my desktop pictures include a themed firefox picture, while my laptop pictures include, what else, an open terminal window. Anyway, have looks.

(And... Yes, I know I'm using the winamp icon on linux. It really launches rhythmbox, for which I couldn't find a decent similarly themed icon)

My desktop now. The wallpaper, www.forgottenasylum.com is a kind of twisted fiction website, which after reading them you will question if the website is real or not. In fact, while its story about book of truth should be a fiction, the psychological theories there are real and the psychological events described can happen in real life.

Yeah, I was talking to a guy at Hack Week and he commented on my wallpaper (at the time it was a DaisyOwl pic) ... and he was like "So I have like 700 wallpapers that I've collected ... here, take 'em " ... so I did. Most of them are space-ish, earth-ish, or video-game flavored, but there are a couple awesome ones mixed in ... like that pic I'm using now

Can I has an email of that?

Kay guys, it's actually more like 650 images, and there are a couple things that I've added myself (only a couple ... mostly just Elfen Lied and Freezepop stuff) but whatever~

<3 your desktop. For ages (seriously, a long ass time) I've been trying to figure out how to my background text repeat without aligning. Of course, I use the dreaded photoshop now so that's probably why. Could you perhaps tutorialize that?
